Description

⚡ YOW J-Bay 33" – Room to develop your turns

The J-Bay 33" Power Surfing Series offers a generous platform for working on foot pressure and linking surf-inspired movements. A 33-inch deck and 19-inch wheelbase are central to its character: a layout worth considering for open lines and a stance with room between your feet.

⚡ A wheelbase that shapes the rhythm

Wheelbase is the distance between the truck mounting points. It helps shape how a board turns: this extended layout lends itself to gradual weight transfers and wider arcs. It gives the rider room to break down compression and extension, then link those movements along a continuous line.

⚡ Meraki S5: developing your pumping

The YOW Meraki S5 system allows the front truck to pivot with changes in foot pressure. Pumping means maintaining speed through movements of your body and board instead of continuously pushing off the ground. On the J-Bay, this encourages a steady rhythm and coordination between your upper body and your stance.

★ Space for your stance

The 9.85-inch width provides room to position your feet. Medium concave, the deck's curve across its width, gives a reference underfoot without a deeply cupped shape. The raised tail helps locate the rear foot and apply pressure at the back when changing direction.

★ 66 mm wheels for linking lines

The wheels have a 66 mm diameter, 51 mm width, 49 mm contact patch and 80A hardness. Diameter and urethane hardness contribute to the rolling feel, while the contact area helps support turns. Grip also depends on the surface and how you load the board: hardness alone cannot tell you when a slide will start.

✅ Outside's view

We would recommend the J-Bay to a rider who likes space underfoot and wants to work on open turns with progressive movements. Its dimensions point towards flowing lines and deliberate foot placement. Beginners should still learn to brake and manage speed in an open area before building pace.
